Although this is very uncommon with our products as we carefully formulate and inspect our products to ensure safety, we want to bring awareness towards this matter. It’s important to remember that the products we use to create beautiful nails are all safe, but only when used correctly and responsibly as brands intended. Please note that allergies and contact dermatitis may occur at anytime when using cosmetic or gel products improperly and we want to provide our top tips when working with gel products safely.
Prevention is always better than a cure, so here are our top tips for working with gel products safely so you can prevent/avoid a contact allergy:
- Under cured product is a leading cause of nail product allergy and any old lamp will not do. Make sure you have a full cure lamp, we recommend a 48 watt or above. Flash cure lamps are a great tool during application since it makes the application process easier. However, once your gel tips are adhered to your nails, it is still recommended to still fully cure your nails on a full cure lamp that is at least 48 watts or above.
- Never touch uncured or undercured gel products. Product on your skin can lead to an allergy, so avoid shaping a brush with your fingers, wiping product off the skin with your finger, leaning on the pad you’ve wiped your brush on or touching the skin around your nail with your brush during application. Also, don’t forget the tacky layer. The tacky film on cured gel products is uncured product, so don’t touch this with your fingers and wipe off with care so as not to smear the layer all over your skin or your clients skin.
- Always follow the brands cure time recommendation (you can usually find this on the back of the product information). Each brand may have different cure time recommendations.
- Keep your nail space as dust-free as possible. Dust gets everywhere. Many allergies are developed from uncured product dust filings. Keep the nail desk clean and free from. It is important to make sure your desk is always kept dust-free and to ensure you don’t rest your arm in the dust and develop an irritation or allergy. Invest in a dust collector, if desired.

Wear gloves even if no allergy is present. It is recommended to use nitrile gloves. When doing nails, it is recommended we require a thickness of 8 mil (thousandths of an inch) = 0.19mm per 60 mins. Nitrile gloves are recommended because latex gloves contain a protein that can cause allergic reactions and latex gloves don’t provide nearly as good protection as nitrile gloves.
- Master applying products near your cuticle area to make sure product doesn't get on your skin. For example, you can use a long and thin liner brush to go over the cuticle area when applying gel polish. This will help with precision.
- Make sure liquid products are not running down the handle of your brush. Only take the amount of liquid you require.
- Avoid touching your face during treatments.
- Always use a metal bin with a lid to dispose of chemicals on towels and use an inner bag.
- Use ventilation where possible. For example: Working in a space that has windows and using a fan, this will help air products out.
- Use a face mask or a respirator mask.
- Clean away any product from the skin using a tool, not your fingernails.
- Always wash your hands before and after.
- Clean your tools before and after using them.
- Stop use IMMEDIATELY if any signs of redness or irriation occur.

Shipping FAQ
You should have received an automated email once the order has shipped with the tracking information on it. You can also start a chat with us and select 'Track My Order'. It will then prompt you to enter your order number which you would have received via email along with the email address that was used when placing the order.
If you are still experiencing trouble tracking your order please send us a message via chat to receive a faster response.
We suggest to check with the mail carrier for help with locating the order. If the order cannot be located or has been lost in transit, please file a claim with the mail carrier. Gelfully is not responsible for any missing packages that have been marked as delivered.
Before you place your order, you can view the contents and the total amount in your cart. Once your order is placed, it cannot be modified, exchanged, or cancelled.
Please verify your shipping address and be sure to include unit number, apartment number if any to avoid your order being marked as undeliverable and returned back to our warehouse.
Gelfully is not responsible for lost orders due to incorrect or incomplete address during the time of checkout.
In the event that your order is returned back to us due to incomplete or incorrect address and you would like the item(s) to be re-shipped to you, we can re-ship the order at your expense.
If the order has been confirmed delivered via tracking information and the package is either missing or suspected to be stolen, please contact the mail carrier for further assistance regarding your order.

Soft Gel Extensions FAQ
- Step 1: Prep the nails. Proper preparation is crucial to avoid lifiting or pop offs. File nails, push cuticles back, trim dead cuticles, and buff nails. Nails must be clean (and dry) before application.
- Step 2: Some of our gel tips are pre-etched and some are not. For the gel tips that are not pre-etched you can simply etch the inside with a nail file or an e-file. Etching the inside of the gel tips will help with better adhesion.
- Step 3: Apply dehyrator to remove any oils from your natural nails for longevity
- Step 4: Apply primer which will create a sticky layer for better nail retention
- Step 5: Apply a layer of gel glue to your natural nails then cure for 30 seconds
- Step 6: Add a layer of gel glue to 1/3 of the gel tips & apply the gel tip at a 45 degree angle and maintain pressure. Flash cure for 10 seconds
- Step 7: Cure all nails in the big lamp for 60 seconds to secure nails. We recommend your nail lamp to be at least 48 watts or above.
- Step 1: Cut down length from gel tips
- Step 2: Remove shine from gel polish and file down. Be careful not to overfile to avoid filing the natural nail
- Step 3: Either use a soak off bowl to soak gel tips with 100% pure acetone OR soak with a piece of cotton ball wrapped in aluminum foil which is my preferred method because wrapping it in aluminum will help break down the gel faster
- Step 4: Soak for 10 minutes. If still difficult to remove, soak it again for an additional 10 minutes
- Step 5: Use a wooden cuticle stick to remove, it should come right off
- Step 6: Smoothen out natural nails' surface with a buffing block and add cuticle oil
Premium Gel Polish FAQ
- Step 1: Apply base coat or buff out shine from nails using a buffing block for better gel polish adhesion. Gel polish tend to not stick properly on smooth surface. Doing this can help avoid peeling/chipping.
- Step 2: Swipe one end of the brush to avoid any overflow or applying too much gel as this can cause your gel polish to not fully cure or create wrinkles.
- Step 3: Start by applying very thin layers and build color that way. We recommend to apply no more than 3 coats.
- Step 4: Start by polishing the middle of your nails and slowly working your way down and fanning your brush as you get closer to the cuticles.
- Step 5: It is very important to make sure your gels are fully cured and avoid getting any gel products on your skin as this can cause an allergic reaction commonly known as 'contact dermatitis'. If any gels do get on your skin, be sure to remove it immdiately using either a flat brush with acetone or a lint free wipe with acetone. Stop use immdiately if any signs of redness or irritation occur.
- Step 6: Make sure to always follow brand directions when it comes to curing to make sure your gel polish fully cures. For our brand specifically, we recommend for your nail lamp to be at least 48 watts or above and cure for 120 seconds if it is a UV lamp or 60-120 seconds if it is a LED lamp.
Do I have to use your gel polish with gel tips?
Our Gel Polish can with used on our gel tips or on its own on your natural nails
Please note that UV/LED IS REQUIRED FOR CURING: Any of our gel polish products require a UV or LED nail lamp to cure, harden, or set your gel nail polish in place. Gel formulas cannot air dry down and will only be set entirely using a UV nail lamp. It is common for UV lamps to take longer to cure than LED lamps.
This means that we avoid using the ten chemical components that are the most harmful and are commonly found in other gel polish ingredients.
Our Premium Gel Polish are formulated without:
- Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) – Commonly used plasticizer and has been linked to cancer.
- Toluene – Toluene might irritate your skin if it comes into contact with your skin or if you breathe it in. Unfortunately, it has been reported that breathing in large amounts of toluene is bad for your nervous system and can make you nauseated and dizzy.
- Hema – This chemical is responsible for a lot of allergic reactions in the beauty industry. It may cause a allergic reaction if this chemical is absorbed by the skin.
- Formaldehyde – Is a commonly used chemical for embalming and preserving corpses of both humans and animals. In addition to being unpleasant, its fumes can cause asthma. Another substance that has been linked directly to human cancer development is formaldehyde.
- Camphor – This substance serves as a covering for your nails, robbing them of nutrition and resulting in yellow coloring.
- Formaldehyde Resin – A derivative of Formaldehyde, mainly used in the production of coatings and adhesives. It is not as toxic as Formaldehyde but can be an allergen.
- Xylene – Irritating to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. It can cause systemic toxicity by ingestion or inhalation.
- Ethyl Tosylamide – Plasticizer that helps transform polish from drippy to dry in minutes. This ingredient has already been barred from personal care products in Europe due to its antibiotic properties and concern over antibiotic resistance.
- Parabens – Preservatives that have gotten a bad rep for their estrogen-mimicking effects, which past research has suggested may trigger major health concerns like hormonal problems.
- Fragrance-free and no animal derived ingredients – Product that does not contain any animal products or animal-derived ingredients and no chemicals have been added with the specific purpose of giving a product an aroma.
Yes, majority of our gel polish are HEMA Free. Please review the description section. The description of gel polish will read HEMA Free for those that do not contain HEMA.
NOTE: It is important to keep in mind that HEMA is neither harmful nor dangerous in small amounts. A monomer called HEMA enhances adhesion and provides a sturdier longer-lasting grip. Additionally, Gelfully makes sure to carefully balance each product's ingredient ratios. HEMA concentrations under 20% are considered safe in any product.
Nevertheless, there are many nail professionals and nail enthusiasts who prefer HEMA free products and we wanted to make that accommodation so that there are more people who can enjoy and use Gelfully products.
